The story of how I got this scholarship is a good one. On Tuesday the 7th after my nightly blog while laying in bed and surfing Facebook, I saw a post about the scholarship. The deadline was January 8th the very next day (ominous music please). So I spent all day Wednesday filling out their online application and got it in before the end of day. Now for the good part. A letter of recommendation was also required... I freaked! To be honest I tried to get my Mom to do this because I knew that she was not working that day and I was afraid to ask any of my knitting friends. (I always put others first and never myself.) But she had another last minute family thing to attend to, so reluctantly I called my knitting bestie, Eileen (you saw her in Tuesday's post). She happily obliged and wrote an amazing, glowing, recommendation letter, LOVE HERRRRRRRR.
The notification date was Tuesday the 14th, 2 days ago. As of this morning I had not heard from them. Then this evening - ding - there was an email from Interweave Knitting Lab. To paraphrase their email - You were the runner-up, but the first place person could not take the scholarship so we would like to award it to you.
So if you are going to be in or near Manchester, NH, May 15-18, let me know. More scrumptious yarn tomorrow, see you then.
Ecstatically Knitting,
Victoria
Yippeeee!!!!!!! Congrats, Toots. Now I'll have to sign up for the Knitting Lab, too. I'm looking forward to attending with thee and learning a bunch of NEW stuff. We're gonna have a good time...!! Mom
