Gifting Knit Items

Week 31 = Worth of Your Knitting
Day 7 = August 5, 2014

The final option for knitting requests is just to gift the item. It is your time and skill, you can do with it what you want. Unlike charging per type of item or hourly, when you knit as a gift it is just that - a gift. There are no constraints or guidelines. You are doing the person requesting a kindness.

KNITTING classes start this Tuesday....please join Lisa Simmons,

When you are gifting, if it is your (the knitter's) idea your should pay for the supplies. However, if your sister comes up and wants hats and mittens for her kids. you have several options.
  1. Have her get the yarn and tell her you will make them for her.
  2. Ask her if you could give them those items for their next holiday or birthday.
  3. You get the yarn, knit the items and charge your sister for supplies.

Overall when you delve into the field of knitting for others, do NOT let the fun of knitting itself disappear. Keep the fun going!
