Every Sunday from 2-4 there are a group of lovely ladies that meet at Atlanta Bread Company here in Summerville, SC. We call ourselves Summerville Knitters and we accept all yarn enthusiasts, (not just knitters) whether you are active in your craft or just want to socialize with other yarnies.

There are several ways to find similar groups in your area.
  • Meetup.com
  • Ravelry.com
  • Ask at your local yarn shop owner
  • Ask at your Church
  • Ask at your local Seniors Center

The main difference between Summerville Knitters and Flowertown Knitting Guild is that Summerville Knitters are more of a social sharing group and Flowertown Knitting Guild is more of an educational group. However, the paths of these 2 groups cross often as most people are in both groups.

Here we are at today's Summerville Knitters get-together. There were only 5 of us this week (a smaller group than usual). Also this weekend, in Greenville, SC, there was the Knit Inn 2014, a knitting conference sponsored by South Carolina Knitting Guild.

As I told you in Wednesday's post, I have been a part of this group for almost 2 years. It is amazing the friendships, resources and creativeness that abound from all of these wonderful women.

Question of the day
What is your favorite thing about a knitting group that you attend?

Knitting Together,
