Internet Forums

Week 6 = Knitting Groups
Day 6 = February 10, 2014

There is a knitting black hole that I have talked about before. It's called the internet! Okay, you can ooooh and aaaah now. I know, it's a revelation isn't it.

In this vast black hole there is the opportunity to be a part of many, many knitting groups and have your knitting reach far and wide. Here are a few I was able to unearth in about 15 minutes.

Craftsy and Annie's offer prerecorded knitting instructional classes. The format of these classes allows for contact and discussion with the instructor. So it is like your own personal knitting group with a professional.

Facebook and LinkedIn have a huge array of knitting groups, companies, etc., within the site that you can join. If you type in knitting in the search field of either website, you will find a large variety with anything to suit your needs.

Yahoo Groups is a place where you can search for knitting groups through their database.

There are also individual knitting blogs, big yarn companies, mom-and-pop yarn companies and more online. Many people have a few website that they regularly keep up with and comment/participate in. This is the wonder of the knitting community. Find the one that suits you and put yourself out there.

Question of the day
What online knitting groups/forums do you use?
