Christmas Sparkle

Week 41 = Christmas Knitting Season is Here!
Day 7 = October 14, 2014

What is Christmas without a little bit of sparkle? You can use beads, yarn with a strand of filament in it or just add some sparkly thread to the yarn.

There are many ways adding sparkle can change the look of an item. See below:

My thoughts: The little sparkly snowflake in the corner just below the spoon adds just a hint of elegance to a very simple placemat. Just think how different it would look without the snowflake.

My thoughts: When you add sparkle in the form of beads to the end of a scarf, it becomes not just sparkly, but functional. The added weight of the beads helps keep the scarf in place when it is wrapped around your neck or draped on your shoulders.

My thoughts: This shawl is knit with 2 different yarns, one is the plain color and the other has small sequins in it. The effect is very delicate, especially since it is a lace edging.

My thoughts: I love yarns that make it easy for you, by already including the sparkle in the yarn... no beads or extra strands to worry about here. This is the perfect cowl for an evening walk because it is reflective.

My thoughts: No wardrobe is complete without a little, sparkly, hand knit, short, red dress. Who's with me.......
