Knitted Scarf Butterflies

     Last year Entrelac was a huge thing in the knitting world. Entrelac is typically done in a yarn that has long stripes of different colors so that you get color changes like you see in the first and second picture. This pattern is a variation of Entrelac with a cable in the middle. I love the close-up picture above. I have realized that it boggles and fascinates my knitting tuned mind. Putting a cable in the middle of an Entrelac pattern...BRILLIANT!!!

     I am not to fond of this picture. After thought and consideration, I think it is because there is not enough difference in the colors. They are all muted blues and purples.

     This solid color one is beautiful. The cables add a layer of texture that is not completely understandable in the multi-colored ones above. Also, because of the texture and dimension, the solid color looks like it has light and dark areas.
