Week 16 = Getting Help
Day 4 = April 19, 2014

Ravelry is a wonderful resource that I have posted about in several blogs before. Today however, I am going to focus on getting help on Ravelry.

When a designer posts a pattern or a yarn supplier lists their yarn on Ravelry, there is an option on the Ravelry page to post notes, comments and updates for the pattern/yarn. Also the designers might include information in the actual pattern itself. There is also a little box with average rating, difficulty rating, number of projects and number in queues for patterns and average rating, number of projects and number stashed for yarns that give you an idea what other Ravelry users think.

The message feature is very helpful because you can directly contact the designer or yarn supplier. You can also use it to message any of the individuals that have it listed on their project list.

The best help feature that Ravelry has in my opinion is their groups and the forums that go with them. They have groups on everything from yarn companies to arthritis to World of Warcraft (a video game). So not only can you get help on knitting you can talk with knitters all over the world about other items of interest in the forums. The forums are very easy to post on and can easily be organized with some of the new features on Ravelry.

Knitting question of the day
Have you ever had to contact a designer on Ravelry? If so, why?

Raveling and Knitting,
